BioTechSense is the brand of BTS - Biotechnology and Sensing for Food Safety and Health, Lda., spin off of BLC3 Association - Campus of Technology and Innovation.
BioTechSense emerged from iFungHeath - Fungi Innovation Solutions for Health, Lda. established in 2013 with the main purpose of developing solutions and knowledge concerning fungi toxicity and safety. The broad range of applications from the development of base products and services, has led us to expand our mission and goals towards a wider variety of raw products.
BioTechSense arises as a response to the growing consumer demand concerning food safety and quality. To ensure that products reach this target, a set of standard protocols must be regulated from the producer to the final consumer and an adequate monitoring through control systems must be certified.
One of BioTechSense strategies encompassed the establishment of a scientific team dedicated to the development of internal R&D capabilities and knowledge, aiming at creating new products and systems. Currently, applied and industrial researches are performed by ours specialized team, strongly connected to the technical-scientific sector. The potential outputs have applications on national and international territories at the following Research and Development (R&D) areas.
Analytical methodologies in food safety and toxicology
Molecular recognition and sensing systems
Biotechnologies for fungi production
Toxins and contaminants over the food chain supply
Fungi biomolecules with application in food and health industry
Optimized systems for biomolecules production
BioTechSense aims at developing new systems and innovative solutions in Toxicology, Food Safety and Health towards the current market demands. Our main activities intended to strengthen dynamics of investiment for agroforesty, food, chemical and health industry, and specific know-how licensing.
